In case you missed the press release, allow me to update you on a timely discussion series and community event. The Steamboat Springs Board of Realtors, Steamboat Chamber Economic Development Council and the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. have teamed up to bring us the 5-part “Affordable Housing Forum Series.”
The series is open to the public and is an opportunity for concerned locals to voice opinions on economic sustainability, community workforce concerns and public policy considerations. The meetings are outlined as follows:
- March 28- Current State of Affordable Housing: How is our community responding to the need for affordable housing?
- May 2- Housing our Workforce/Economic Realities: Using case studies and current market data, this forum examines what typical workers can afford.
- May 30- Maintaining Affordability: Will your kids be able to live here?
- June 27- We’re Not Alone: Learning from other communities
- July 25- Show Me The Money: Funding strategies and resources
The series will be held at Rex’s American Grill from 11:30-1:30pm. The price is $15 per session or all 5 for $70 which includes lunch. Call 875-7000 to register and keep in mind that seating is limited.
