The Shape of Things to Come!

More news surrounding the future outlook of Clocktower Square! That’s correct, what’s being deemed the “portal to the new base village area,” the current Clocktower Square location is inching ever closer to development by Momentum Steamboat, LLC. Partners in the firm include former Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company president Colgate Holmes and Steamboat local Jaime Temple. The current plans for the nearly 4-acre site include 201 added residential units and over 48,000 square feet of commercial space.

Services offered within the current plans include such things as guest day care, full service spa, ballroom, conference space, ski shop and restaurants. If approved, sales of this property will include a mix of fractional ownership and whole ownership opportunities. Whole owners will be strongly urged to list their units in the rental pool, creating more lodging for area guests.

In recent reports, Vice President of Development for the Steamboat Ski Area was quoted in saying “we have no objection” to the pre-application plans that include development of the parking structure on the corner of Mt. Werner Road and Ski Time Square. This structure is currently being used for Steamboat Grand Resort Hotel guests and valet.

This new project is being called the St. Cloud Resort & Spa and I’ll be keeping you posted as to how these plans begin to take shape. Combined with the Ski Time Square reconstruction, the 5-year plan for Steamboat’s base area is 180-degrees from what we have now.
